Welcome to the AHMP-North Star Chapter Web Site

The Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) is a membership organization dedicated to fostering professional development through continuing education, peer group interaction, the exchange of ideas and information relating to hazardous materials management. AHMP is comprised of 54 Chapters with over 7,000 members in 34 States, the District of Columbia and Guam.

The AHMP also is the membership organization for individuals who have successfully completed the education, experience, and testing requirements necessary to become a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). The CHMM program is administered by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM).

Mission Statement — The North Star Chapter of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals was established to provide a forum for the advancement of the environmental profession. Objectives are to provide for continuing education and to exchange ideas and information regarding the administration of hazardous materials/waste management programs.

CHMMunity brings AHMP-NSC Award Recognition

AHMP-NSC as a group received 2 awards, as follows:
Take Pride in America Secretarial Award. The AHMP-NSC has over 3,400 volunteer hours to date. See www.takepride.gov for more information.

Harztog Regional Award. The AHMP-NSC was nominated by Chris Holbeck of Voyageurs National Park and "competed" with 55 other parks to receive the regional award. We then "competed" with 7 other regions, approximately 390 parks, for the national award. AHMP won the regional award.

National AHMP Annual Conference

The AHMP 2014 Annual Conference was held August 23 through August 28. 

 The AHMP 2015 National Conference will be in Scottsdale, Arizona August 30 through September 2.

CHMM Certification Exam Annual Training Course

The AHMP North Star Chapter CHMM Examination Overview course will be scheduled for Spring 2015 at Donaldson Company in Bloomington, MN.

The Regulatory CHMM Overview Workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the major topics and concerns in hazardous materials management. For more information contact John Potokar at john.potokar@donaldson.com.
